MEDIA ADVISORY: Persons Conning Members of Public in the Name of Kenya Red Cross Society Staff

Written By: Super User Category: News

21st March 2020, Our attention has been drawn to reports that persons purporting to be Kenya Red Cross Society staff/volunteers are distributing masks in public service bus (matatu) stops claiming that such masks will protect them from contracting the Coronavirus.

We would like to advise members of the public that the Kenya Red Cross Society is not, and has no plans of carrying out such distribution. We urge Kenyans to be vigilant and not fall victim to such con games.

We would like to advise members of public to adhere to government advice regarding COVID-19 including maintaining high hygiene standards, keeping the recommended social distance, and avoiding crowded public places.

Additionally, if they suspect themselves or anyone near them to have COVID-19 they are advised to call 719 for assistance.

Any information regarding Kenya Red Cross Society operations, will be shared through our official channels, this being This email address is being protected from spambots.
