Ms. Edla Muga is a Kenyan lawyer who holds an LLB from Nairobi university, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law and a master’s degree in international studies. She has built a career in both the development and humanitarian fields, having previously worked in law firms, national Kenyan NGOs, the UN, and with donor agencies and other international NGOs. Edla has been a staff member of Oxfam since 2014 serving as Gender Coordinator for Oxfam in South Sudan and Oxfam in Iraq.

Since 2019, she has worked as a Global Safeguarding advisor for Oxfam as a Humanitarian Support Personnel (HSP), and been deployed to and supported various Oxfam development and Humanitarian responses such as Mozambique, Zambia, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, West Africa (Anglophone countries like Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria) and most recently was supporting the Ukraine response from Romania and Moldova. She is also currently one of the Humanitarian Support Personnel Representatives, bringing the voice of fellow HSPs to the senior management.
