Dr Ahmed Idris is the Secretary-General of the Kenya Red Cross Society. He has previously served as the Deputy Secretary-General – Corporate Services and as the Executive Director of the International Center for Humanitarian Affairs.

He has also served as Head of Policy and Advocacy and Governance Manager. He holds a PhD in International Law from Oxford University, a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School Tufts University and a Master of Studies in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford.

Dr Ahmed has over ten years of experience shaping law and policy in Kenya and the region, working with public governments and communities to address humanitarian challenges.
